Dani and Jameson are back with a steamy story after their initial happily ever after. They struggle to navigate their fame, and their relationship is in jeopardy after a series of miscommunications.
Although the story is certainly enjoyable, it may not have been necessary to turn it into a series. Although it's clear at the end of American Royalty that the couple wouldn't have an easy time, I think the first book gives us enough of a happy ending. This opinion is indicative of my preference for a series of standalone novels.
Nevertheless, I hope there's a third book because it's fun, and The Duchess Effect left readers on a slight cliffhanger. It's a good read, but I'd rather have another couple set in this world where we could see Dani and Jameson as secondary characters.
I suggest you only read this book if you've read American Royalty first. If you liked American Royalty, you would also appreciate this.
